About Andi:
Utilizing the family-systems approach, I will explore your experiences with your family-of-origin and help you gain an understanding of how those experiences have impacted your present-day functioning. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I am a fellow traveler on your wellness journey.
I received my B.A in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and am a graduate of the Master of Science Counseling program at Missouri State University where I am also a guest lecturer for the Couples and Families Counseling graduate course. I offer counseling to individuals, couples, and families. As a parent of a special needs child, I understand the unique challenges that come with raising these little humans. I specialize in working with parents of neurodivergent children and adult children. I also work with high functioning adults on the autism spectrum. I am a candidate for Certified Couples Betrayal Recovery Therapist certification.
I work with a variety of difficulties including:
– Anxiety and depression
– Relational issues
– Familial issues
– Conflict resolution
– Social skills
– Parenting skills
– Trauma
– Self-esteem
– Work stress
– Traumatic birth experiences
– Life transitions
– Couples betrayal recovery trauma
I offer group counseling for parents of special needs kids, parents who have had traumatic birth experiences, and a social skills group for high-functioning adults with autism. I seek to create an environment for my clients to process their trauma and work towards self-acceptance while learning new skills to effectively cope with the complexity of being human.
